What kind of world should a turtle-building mission world be? Should it be flat or random? Should we have border blocks to designate building areas for students and prevent you from going to each other's areas? Should students be able to build and dig - or just turtles? Would you like to solve any puzzles or just have creative freedom with the turtles?
We just finished a mission called turtle canyon and Mrs. Dupriest asked us what kind of world we wanted to do next. She asked us if we wanted a flat terrain or a randomized one. The majority of the class said they wanted a randomized terrain because it would be more challenging and they did not want a flat world because there would be no need for digging and it would be too easy. Most people also wanted the turtles to be the only ones able to build and dig. They wanted to use what we just learned about turtles and if people could build and dig to, there would be no need for turtles. Almost the whole class wanted border blocks due to previous experience. We have had other people destroy and steal things from other people and no one liked that. We don't trust each other enough to work with the whole class again, so the majority of the class wanted to work alone. The final question was if we wanted to have creative freedom or if we wanted a mission or puzzles. The results were half and half. People wanted to be able to show what they know and build what ever they wanted to express their creative thinking. The other half of the class wanted a problem to solve or a mission to have a challenge.
